Why 6th GCC, "Together, We are in Global Disaster Response?"
Following the 1st Indonesia in 2013, Philippines, Nepal, Malaysia in 2019, and the 5th Indonesia in 2022, the 6th GCC (Global Changing Challenges) will be held in Korea in 2024 under the theme “Together, We are in Global Disasters Respond”.
The GCC is an international gathering of experts and members of IDRN (International Disaster Respond Network) that provide relief to refugees affected by disasters to share experiences, learn from disaster sites, and respond to another disaster.
The purpose of the 6th GCC is First, to improve participants’ disaster relief capabilities through case presentations and expert training, and to connect IDRN Global members around the world, from the past to the future. Second, to experience the situation on the Korean Peninsula and prepare response strategies for possible disaster situations in the process of reunification of North and South Korea.
Why are we coming together for the 6th GCC?
On the occasion of the IDRN International Leaders Forum in Korea, IDRN Global will strengthen its network and resolve to respond to disasters in the community together. This will expand IDRN Global’s role to stand with refugees in various disasters around the world, not only in North Korea.
